Flight Reviews (BFR) and/or Refreshment Course
To maintain pilot certification, completing a FAA flight review every 24 months is mandatory. This assessment evaluates a pilot's flying aptitude and knowledge, covering both flight maneuvers and ground knowledge. The review is conducted by a certified flight instructor (CFI).
The FAA flight review is critical in ensuring that pilots remain up-to-date with industry regulations and standards, as well as equipped with the necessary skills to operate an aircraft safely and efficiently. A successful review instills pilots with the confidence and proficiency needed to navigate through various flight scenarios with ease.
Instrument Proficiency Check
(IPC)
Pilots must complete an FAA Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) to maintain their proficiency in flying an aircraft under instrument flight rules (IFR). This assessment is mandatory and designed to evaluate a pilot's ability to operate an aircraft safely and efficiently in IFR conditions. The IPC is required for pilots who have not met the recent experience requirements for maintaining their IFR currency. It assesses a pilot's competency in a range of flight scenarios that require proficiency in IFR flight techniques and procedures.
